Mandrakesoft Bundles Java Database - Daffodil DB - With Mandrakelinux 10.1
Mandrakesoft has announced the bundling of the popular Java RDBMS - Daffodil DB v3.3 - with Mandrakelinux 10.1 PowerPack. The bundled version of Daffodil DB is its 90-day evaluation version, which has the same features and capabilities as the commercial version.
Daffodil DB is a J2EE-certified, JDBC 3.0 and SQL 99 compliant Java database. It has been designed to handle complex computing environments that demand a robust, scalable and high-performance RDBMS that can operate across platforms.
Mandrakelinux 10.1 PowerPack is a powerful Linux OS that integrates databases, office applications, multimedia and the internet - simultaneously also catering to the needs of the advanced user.
The integration of Daffodil DB as a default database in Mandrakelinux offers a greater degree of choice to the fraternity of developers. This comes after a series of stringent tests in lab environs to ensure tighter and seamless integration of Daffodil DB with Mandrakelinux.
