The Digital Home Highway to Feature Latest Consumer and Industry Analysis
Parks Associates has released the agenda for its pre-show workshop, The Digital Home Highway, to be held on January 5, 2005, at International CES 2005. This workshop will provide consumer data, insight, and analysis on broadband services, multimedia applications and platforms, on-demand content, digital rights management (DRM), and the connected consumer.
Parks Associates' year-end 2004 guidance indicates that broadband penetration among U.S. households will have reached approximately 33 million, and 17 million U.S. households will have a home data network. Further, Parks Associates estimates that nearly two million U.S. households are using home networking equipment offered by their broadband service provider.
"Product developers and operators are rightfully optimistic about the opportunities for digital home and mobile applications in 2005," said Kurt Scherf, vice president and principal analyst for Parks Associates. "The integration between content services -- voice, video, data, and value-added applications -- and digital products will be a significant theme at the 2005 International CES and will generate substantial momentum for these markets in the next year."
In addition, key industry leaders will be participating in the workshop, including a special Leadership panel. The following executives are participating in The Digital Home Highway throughout the day:
