The 20-ppm ArtixScanDI 2010 and the 12-ppm ArtixScanDI 1210 are budget-friendly document scanners for paper-intense business environments, workgroups, or home offices. Both offer 600 x 1200 dpi optical resolution and exceptional 48-bit color, allowing digitally archived documents like spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and text with embedded photos to retain the appearance of the original for easy text viewing and accurate color. A built-in 50-page automatic document feeder accommodates letter, legal, A6, and A4 sizes for multipurpose scanning of business documents, photos, fragile papers, and bound volumes.

Additional features include:

    TWAIN and ISIS driver support through ScanWizard(TM) DI
    Auto de-skew and page-size detection
    Programmable function buttons
    Short paper path and stabilizer bar for enhanced reliability
    8.5" x 11.7" flatbed scan area

Microtek's ScanWizard DI scanner controller software is effective for scanning, filing, and retrieving documents quickly, whether launching the software in standalone mode or from within an document imaging, OCR, or image editing applications.

With speeds of 20 pages per minute (ppm) for B&W documents, 15-ppm grayscale, and 10-ppm color, the ArtixScanDI 2010 meets the needs of offices that require intensive scanning. The 2010 features dual Hi-Speed USB and SCSI-2 interfaces, five programmable function buttons for custom pre-sets, and ScanSoft(R) PaperPort Deluxe software for document management. MSRP is $599.99.

The ArtixScanDI 1210 scans at 12 ppm for B&W/grayscale, and 8 ppm color. It features a Hi-Speed USB interface, two programmable function buttons, and ScanSoft PaperPort SE software. MSRP is $399.99.

The two simplex-imaging scanners support ISIS and TWAIN for efficient VAR system integration of third-party software for specialized applications. ABBYY FineReader Sprint is the OCR software, and both scanners work on Windows 98SE, 2000, Me, and XP on the PC platform.

Two important features include page-size detection for automatic cropping and size detection of the image being scanned, and Auto De-skew, which rotates images and corrects for distortion to provide proper alignment following a scan.

The ArtixScanDI 2010 and ArtixScanDI 1210 are now available through mail order and through Microtek's global distribution channels including Ingram Micro, Tech Data, distributors of photographic equipment and supplies, system integrators, and value-added resellers.
