Westinghouse Digital Reduces Prices on LCD TVs for Holiday Season

New Pricing - $1,199 for 27-Inch, $1,699 for 30-Inch LCD TVs - Plus 'Black Friday' Dealer Incentive Program Aimed to Encourage LCD-TV Gift Buying

Westinghouse Digital Electronics, dedicated to making digital entertainment devices available to mainstream consumers, today announced new holiday pricing on its largest LCD TVs -- $1,199 estimated street price (ESP) for the 27-inch (model # W32701) and $1,699 ESP for the 30-inch (model #W33001).

The new pricing reflects a drop of approximately 29 percent for the W32701 and 23 percent for the W33001 from mid-summer of this year.

In addition, Westinghouse Digital is offering dealer incentive programs to reduce its LCD TV prices even further on the traditional "Black Friday" holiday shopping spree the day after Thanksgiving, according to Douglas Woo, president of Westinghouse Digital.

"Once again, Westinghouse Digital leads the industry in making LCD TVs more attractive to a broad consumer market as a CRT replacement," Woo said. "We believe offering superior digital entertainment technology at the optimum value will make LCD TVs the 'must-have' gift of the holiday season this year."

Westinghouse LCD TVs are available at major consumer electronics retailers across the country, including Best Buy, The Great Indoors, J&R Music and Computer World, Boscov's, Cambridge Soundworks, Handy TV, Electronics Express, Rex Stores, American TV and Appliance, Cowboy Maloney, Stereo Advantage, Bernie's, Fred Meyer, Lack's Furniture and Famsa stores.

With a thin flat-panel design in contrast to bulky CRT TVs, Westinghouse LCD TVs also offer clearer images, more vivid colors and crisper resolution than CRT TVs, with a wider viewing angle that makes it possible to see a clear picture from almost anywhere in the room.

Families can enjoy broadcast, cable, satellite or HDTV programming, watch DVD or VHS movies, play videogames, surf the Internet, work on a PC and watch TV at the same time, or view digital photos. Advanced PIP (picture-in-picture) capabilities enable consumers to size and locate the PIP screens or enjoy split screen viewing.

With an expected lamp life of 40,000 hours and no degradation in video performance over the life of the product, Westinghouse LCD TVs offer families many years of high-quality digital entertainment.
