Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse Earns 2005 CES Innovations Award
Since its launch on October 18, 2004, the dashing, meticulously detailed Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse [review] has been an attention grabber -- both in industry circles and in boardrooms around the globe -- thanks to its unique blend of mobility, streamlined design and uncompromising performance. Now the Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse has been honored with a 2005 International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award.
The Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse is loaded with innovations. A touch-sensitive, solid-state scrolling panel gives notebook PC users the full complement of horizontal and vertical scrolling abilities, but without a physical scroll wheel. The mouse is highly compact during travel -- 3 3/4 inches by 2 1/4 inches by 1 1/8 inches (smaller than a typical bar of soap) -- but its expandable chassis rises about 1/4 inch for a comfortable fit during use. The mouse's companion 2.4 GHz wireless receiver stows away neatly in a slot within the chassis -- minimizing the risk of misplacing or damaging the receiver.
Because it contains few moving parts, the Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse is an extremely durable traveler. Its fused aluminum base and shock-resistant bodywork are executed with the detail and quality demanded in premium consumer electronics devices. Subtly sculpted finger grips provide precise control and greater comfort -- as well as additional elegance to the overall design. The solid-state scrolling panel keeps the face of the mouse flat and makes it easy to pack.
The Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse is currently available in the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $69.95.
