NoMachine announces release of NX 1.4.0

NoMachine, the creator of the innovative NX terminal server and remote access solution, has announced the release of NX 1.4.0. The new release sports exciting new features that make NX the most advanced tool in the Linux world enabling corporations and professionals to get secure access to their server based applications over the Internet.

Persistence of sessions, new in this release, allows users to suspend their work and connect to the same session from anywhere in the world, at any time. Uninterruptible operation has been the most requested feature since the NX inception and it is now built into the product for the thousands of users who have faithfully followed the NX technology trail.

The new server also adds support for printing on local printers attached to the client. This will allow for a greater level of flexibility in allowing seamless access to remote applications as if they were run from the local computer.

In addition to these numerous implementations, which have seen the NoMachine team emerge as an outstanding alternative to other remote access and application deployment solutions available on the market, version 1.4.0 extends platform support even further. By including RedHat Enterprise Linux, Solaris 8/10, Mandrake 10.1 and SuSE 9.1 editions NoMachine expands its current list of supported distributions even further, thus embracing the global range of its customers. NX continues to live up to its motto of being able to "run any application on any OS over any network."

This release is accompanied by a total revamp to the NoMachine's Support Center. Users can now browse more efficiently the vast range of information relating to NX via the newly-implemented NX Knowledge Base. Searching for trouble reports, fixes, documentation, hints and howtos can now be done from one location and thus greatly facilitates the whole process of pinpointing the answers to specific questions. Furthermore, NX Customers will be able to keep track of their own support requests in real time via the new system, thus creating a more personalized aspect.
