Study: Broadband Punters Know More, Not Important Stuff
Don’t give a damn about that politics.
Although people who use a broadband Internet connection also seem to be more sociable than their dial-up counterparts, they are no more engaged in political discussions than dial-up users. As Nojin Kwak, author of the study, puts it, "Overall, dial-up modem users are more interactive with others and knowledgeable about current affairs than nonusers of the Internet. But despite its increased speed and a greater opportunity to utilize political resources on the Internet, broadband Internet doesn't seem to be more effective than narrowband Internet in fostering politically active citizens, while its added benefits in entertainment and social areas are clear."
And that is good.
