Accelerator from Market Leader Propel Software Sets New Performance Standard with Higher Image Quality at the Fastest Acceleration Speeds
Propel Software Corporation, the most popular Internet acceleration provider, announced today that it has developed a new accelerator -- Propel Accelerator 5.0 -- that delivers the highest quality web images and gives users the fastest acceleration in the industry. Featuring Propel's proprietary implementation of next generation compression, Propel Accelerator 5.0 is being previewed here at the ISP industry's largest annual conference. Propel Accelerator 5.0 will be available for ISPs later in November and current Propel Accelerator service subscribers will be able to download the free upgrade in early December. Propel Accelerator solutions are now deployed by more than 60 percent of the top U.S. ISPs that offer accelerated service.
Propel Accelerator 5.0 features a significant increase in overall Internet acceleration and an average of 24 percent improvement in image acceleration at the fastest speed settings. As a result, Propel Accelerator 5.0 delivers the highest quality images of any acceleration solution. Using proprietary implementation of wavelet compression technology and other new acceleration techniques, Propel provides rich web page graphics during compression at the fastest acceleration settings.

The new acceleration and image quality features in Propel Accelerator 5.0 will be integrated into all three of Propel's acceleration products, including its client software, Propel Accelerator; its fully managed and hosted service for ISPs, Propel Complete; and its licensed server software for ISPs deploying their own service, Propel Acceleration Service.
Propel Accelerator 5.0 Client software features
The client software for Microsoft Windows has several new features, including:
- An average of 24 percent improvement in image acceleration over Propel Accelerator 4.1
- Accelerated sending of email and attachments
- New acceleration support for the IMAP email protocol
- Improved image compression for smaller, faster and sharper images, using a new proprietary compression algorithm
- Improved text compression for smaller and faster lossless compression

The server software for Propel Accelerator 5.0 also has several new features which enhance data traffic and network operation, including:
- Multiple RADIUS server enhancements
- Customizable pop-up white list propagation
- SMTP server designation of specific servers for transmission
- New client performance statistics logging
