The second annual 3G CDMA-List Awards honors organizations for their creativity and innovation, overall business impact and quantifiable return-on-investment (ROI). This year, the program added a new award category to recognize a groundbreaking implementation of CDMA2000 1xEV-DO high-speed wireless data technology, available today from network operators in numerous metropolitan markets, with nationwide deployment plans announced through 2005. The award program also recognizes enabling partners, such as operators, hardware and software vendors, consultants and integrators that have supported these organizations with their wireless data deployments.

By deploying CDMA2000 1X or 1xEV-DO, winners have demonstrated labor and cost savings from $10,000 to $1 million by eliminating or decreasing fixed expenses — and they have reduced downtime, increased productivity and improved customer service by relying on 3G CDMA-based solutions.

This year's winners are:

Small Companies: Hawaii HomeLoans, Inc.
Medium Companies: Tomra East
Large Companies: UPS
Public Agencies: City of Alliance Municipal Electric System
Non-Profit Organizations: Lee Memorial Health System
CDMA2000 1xEV-DO: IBM
Best of Class: Continental Lab Products
Innovation: Earthscope/Plate Boundary Observatory

A panel of distinguished judges selected this year's A-List Winners. Judges included: Andrew M. Seybold, president of Andrew Seybold Group; Mark Desautels, vice president of the Wireless Internet Caucus at CTIA; Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDMA Development Group (CDG); Iain Gillott, president of iGillottResearch; Joseph Braue, vice president/director at CMP Integrated Marketing Solutions; and Jan Dehesh, vice president, enterprise market development for QUALCOMM.
