Marconi Calls on Hyperwave
Marconi is enhancing its corporate website using technology provided by Hyperwave, a leading supplier of collaborative knowledge management and e-learning software. The project is taking place over two phases and is recognised within Marconi as a major technology initiative that will reduce content management costs and enhance customer service.

Marconi Calls on Hyperwave
In the first phase, Marconi is using a highly resilient Oracle database environment and Hyperwave to manage web content. This ‘easy to use’ technology supports simple templates and forms enabling Marconi's marketing organisation to design and place content directly to its website. This technology is supported by an automated workflow process, fully integrated with e-mail.

The second phase involves migrating partner and customer extranet sites into Hyperwave as a means of information sharing and improving services for all users while reducing document management costs.

In particular, Hyperwave enables Marconi to use a single database of information to support a full range of users cost effectively. This database gives users, ranging from sales managers to field engineers and even customers, varying levels of access to a single source of information that can be controlled and managed centrally. This ensures uniformity of information throughout the organisation and eliminates the costs of creating and managing many separate documents specific to each user group.
