Australian Companies Keep their Laser MFP
The "Business Selection Criteria for Multifunction Environments" study by IDC finds that 50% of Australian local enterprises (250+ employees) keep their laser MFPs for over four years.

"Whilst the MFP market is currently experiencing strong growth, the longer life cycle that IT executives have planned for their laser printers is an important consideration. IT executives still tend to view laser MFPs as being an expensive, but durable/reliable investment which helps to lengthen the life cycle of the devices. Vendors will need to focus on the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) story, value added services, lower cost per page ratios, and service & support for the end users to help combat this trend," added Mr. Sager.
Loretta Pein, Senior Analyst, commented that, "In contrast to the survey respondents feedback regarding single-function printers, a significant portion of respondents (over one-third) indicated that they purchased their MFPs directly from the respective vendors. This is an important consideration for vendors in their channel strategies and product positioning."
