Newman M790 mp3 player features a pivot screen

Newman has unveiled its new low-end mp3 player. Sporting quite an ordinary set of features, the Newman M790 draws attention via its cool-looking 320x240, 260K color display, which can be rotated left and right.





It is not really clear, why on Earth an mp3 player would need a swivel screen (it's not a smartphone, anyway) but the pivot will definitely help Newman to sell an extra dozen of these gadgets.

The M790 player also features only 512 MB of internal memory, SD/MMC slot and support for mp3 and WMA files (although, it is not yet known, whether the device will be able to play protected content). The only problem is that the M790 is equipped with an ancient USB 1.1 port, which means that one will have to wait forever and a couple of years more to download some 512 MB of music with a maximum speed of 12Mbps.

Gizmodo is reporting that the Newman M790 will be available before the end of the month.
