Sony's First D-SLR Alpha 100 Digital Camera Unveiled
The new Sony D-SLR Alpha 100 digital camera features 10 megapixel APS sensor combined with anti-dust protection and anti-shake system built into the body of the camera. That's how Sony is trying to fill the empty space left after Konika Minolta decided to quit the business.

The Register reports that the anti-dust protection has been provided by using special antistatic coating on the CCD, which also vibrates every time the camera is turned off to get rid of dust particles.

What's really interesting, is that the Sony D-SLR Alpha 100 is the first product from Sony that doesn't work exclusively with Sony's proprietary MemoryStick/MemoryStick Duo memory cards. Instead, the camera includes a Compact Flash/MicroDrive slot with a MemoryStick Duo adapter in the package.
