Asus W5Fe is the first in a series of laptops striving on Windows Vista's new functionality, such as an ability to access data without actually opening the notebook. That is where the second screen is stepping in.

The dual-screen Asus W5Fe just like a flip-phone comes with, err, two screens. The main screen is quite an ordinary 12.1-inch display, while the auxiliary is a tiny PDA-like monitor. It's even equipped with a standard for any pocket PC set of controls to make operating the notebook easier.

Of course, the dual-screen notebook is still in a 'conceptual' phase of development since without Vista its second screen will be kind of useless (although one could imagine a wireless phone integrated into the notebook and equipped with a Bluetooth-headset) but the concept is interesting nonetheless.
