Sharp Shows Off the World's First Dual-View LCD Monitor
The groundbreaking device from Sharp is able to produce two different images simultaneously when watching it in different viewing directions. Now you can have two different desktops: for your boss and for your eyes only.

The device, created by Sharp Corporation and Sharp Laboratories of Europe, Ltd., works by directionally controlling the viewing angle of the LCD monitor. Using such tricks as putting a parallax barrier superimposed on an off the shelf TFT LCD, the monitor sends the backlight into right and left directions so the different information can be read from different angles on the very same screen at the very same time.

How can you use it? Well, imagine playing different games on the same monitor, or watching different TV shows, or even working with different documents simultaneously.

It's still a prototype, but the company claims to start mass-producing it before the end of this month. Its price is still a mystery.
