The program is now able to pull new contacts from third-party software such as MS Outlook and its little sister Outlook Express, MSN Messenger, and Opera Internet-browser. Previously stored locally, the contact list is now being sent to an Internet-server where it can be available to its owner from virtually any location – provided, that he or she has an access to the Net.

Skype for Windows v1.2 is now much easier to download and install since it has a built-in 'Getting Started Wizard' that makes the process of setting the client up nice and easy. The wizard acts as a one-click launch pad to Skype's frequently-used functions, such as importing contacts, searching Skype's global user directory, editing personal profiles to make it easier for friends and family to locate users, configuring privacy settings, making test calls and accessing online help.

You can download Skype for Windows v1.2 from the company's web site.
