TimeSys TimeStorm LDS Evaluation Kit Available for Download
TimeSys announced the availability of a freely downloadable 14-day evaluation kit for the TimeStorm Linux Development Suite (LDS). TimeStorm LDS works with all embedded Linux distributions and hundreds of available plug-ins for the Eclipse 3.0 framework, giving developers the flexibility to create the development environment of their choice.
TimeStorm LDS is available as a standalone product and as part of TimeStorm Linux Development Kits (LDKs) for all popular architectures including PowerPC, x86, ARM, XScale, MIPS, SuperH, and SPARC.
The TimeStorm LDS Evaluation Kit enables developers to test-drive application development/debugging, kernel and driver development/debugging, and root filesystem content creation/configuration. A sample application developer's workspace, a GNU-based toolchain, and complete product and evaluation documentation are also included in the kit. Registration and a Red Hat 9.0-compatible Linux IA-32/x86 host PC are required.
TimeStorm LDS makes it easy to develop, debug and deploy embedded applications, customize and extend the Linux kernel, and customize the target root filesystem and applications. Key features include:
- IDE for Application Development and System Configuration simplifies code creation and editing for individuals or complex team projects
- Support for Managing Multiple Projects enables developers to create, view, manage and switch between projects
- Cross-Compilation and Target Management provides an intuitive process for selecting cross-compilers, communicating with the target board, and downloading and installing applications
- Remote, Multi-threaded Debugging requires no separate target configuration and is started with a single mouse-click from the host system
- Target Configuration and Customization delivers complete control over kernel configuration, compilation, and the contents of the root filesystem(s) on the target hardware
