Mobile Penetrations Reaches 35% in Eastern Europe

Mobile penetration in the region is around 35% but this figure covers a wide variation between countries, with mobile communications as well developed in some Eastern European countries as in Western Europe. As at end-March 2004, the Czech Republic ranked fourth by penetration levels in all Europe, with Greece just behind in fifth place. Only Luxembourg, Portugal and Sweden had higher penetration rates. Slovenia ranked in tenth place.
