Juniper Networks IDP Systems and Firewalls Protect Against New Microsoft Windows Vulnerabilities

Juniper Networks announced zero-day coverage for the MS04-042 vulnerability announced by Microsoft Corporation. The Juniper Networks intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) systems and firewall products protect against the MS04-042 Denial of Service Vulnerability and Remote Code Execution Vulnerability, which has been assigned an "Important" severity rating by Microsoft.





Additionally, Juniper Networks security products offers protection against other vulnerabilities announced today. The Juniper Networks IDP systems detect and protect against MS04 -043, a vulnerability in the HyperTerminal which could allow the attacker to gain complete control of an affected system through code execution.

Juniper Networks IDP systems, running the latest version of its IDP operating code(1), can detect and prevent the Microsoft remote code execution vulnerability number MS04-045, a flaw that will either allow the hacker to take control of the affected system or result in a denial-of-service on Windows Servers.
