Laurel Networks to Demo Triple Play Capabilities
Laurel's ST200 to Provide Video on Demand, Broadcast Video and High-Speed Internet at DSLHome SUPERDemo
Laurel Networks, Inc. will showcase the Triple Play capabilities of its ST200(TM) Service Edge Router at the DSLHome(TM) SUPERDemo (Booth #70619), January 6 to 9, at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the company announced today. Sponsored by the DSL Forum, the DSLHome is a hands-on demonstration of a DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) network supporting the latest in family and home office networking applications and gateways, including video on demand, streaming video, IP telephony, online gaming and video conferencing.
Featured in the "Living Room" of the DSLHome, Laurel's ST200 B-RAS (broadband remote access server) will serve up video on demand, broadcast television, and dynamically-tunable, high-speed Internet services. The demonstration will showcase the Laurel router's ability to provide the wire-speed performance and sophisticated TR-059 QoS (quality of service) required to simultaneously deliver high-quality video as well as other high-throughput services desired by today's network-savvy consumer.
As part of the demonstration, Laurel will also give booth visitors the ability to change the throughput capacity of their Internet connection dynamically. Via a web portal tied to the Laurel router, users will be able to sample advanced turbo button functionality to adjust the speed of their web browsing connection with no impact on TV video quality.
