Video of Live Firing of Stun Gun With FMT Technology

The recent live firing of LEA's stun pistol with FMT technology is available for viewing on the LEA website. The video contains footage of Paul Feldman, President of Law Enforcement Associates, being shot by the LEA stun pistol prototype. Mr. Feldman was wearing a CLASS IIIA bulletproof vest during the test.

Paul Feldman stated, "Law Enforcement Associates takes officer safety very serious, as a manufacturer of surveillance equipment and protection devices such as the UVI (Under Vehicle Inspection) and EDK kits (Explosive Detection Kit) we are readily aware that if our equipment fails to operate as specified a life could be in danger. We feel that the design of our weapon needs to fill the safety and operating requirements of a weapon that a police officer is already familiar with. This is why we purposely designed our weapon with a full handle so that an officer always can maintain a firm grip on the weapon. We do not agree with what we perceive to be the current belief by our competitors that smaller is better for law enforcement. If that were true, all police officers would carry derringers instead of regulation side arms."

Mr. Feldman added, "While being stunned was painful, I have fully recovered and there have been no after effects at all. We continue to make progress in our design and fully expect to meet our deadline of March 2004."

Also commenting on the test firing, Senator John Carrington added, "For Paul Feldman to volunteer to be shot and stunned by our pistol shows not only courage, but his belief in the safety of our new weapon."
